Meadow Moss Farm
We are a project aiming to engage with the land and our community well through supporting the health of our bodies along with the health of the ecosystem we are apart of. We are a no-till small scale operation following principles of regenerative agriculture and agroforestry. While we are not certified organic, all of our practices are organic in nature and some would argue, are "beyond organic". We are soil nerds and take great care to honor and support the natural microbiome that occurs beneath your vegetables. Evidence based research shows that a thriving microbiome in the soil contributes to a higher nutrient and probiotic content in vegetables, greater natural pest and disease resistance in the plants, and higher benefit to surrounding ecosystems. We honor and acknowledge the legacy and origin of the principles we use to tend the land as the contemporary amalgamation of Indigenous agricultural practices developed by various cultures from around the world. Land Acknowledgement and Reparative Mission Statement We are grateful to the legacies of land care-taking by the Squaxin people, who's land we are occupying as settlers, and we strive to be in good relationship through not only land acknowledgement, but through action as well. We are committed to relationship building and mutual aid and while we have avenues for sharing the wealth of the land through established relationships - we are always open to collaborations and addressing community needs. We welcome and invite further collaboration - please feel free to reach out if opportunities for us to contribute arise. |
